Lively. Cinematic. The varied tunes of the OCEANS CD have inspired and delighted fans. The melodies portray a wide range of emotions and a variety of melodic genres. Drama, joy, even ‘Celtic Blues’ (a comment from a fan on “When Will I Sea You Again), there are songs here to lift your mood and just plain make you happy.

Composed in 2012, the Oceans CD follows in the lineup of theme-based CDs that Skye is focusing on this year. The title song, Perfect Storm, is a dramatic interpretation of the fury of nature’s weather on ocean waters. Other compositions depart from this mood.

Seeking Atlantis has a light and gentle melody, reminiscent of the music of Tuscany. Still Sailin’, as well as Me and My Ocean are cheerful, horn-pipe-like tunes. The choice of instruments in Whale Watching is evocative of whale song, performed in a luxurious, underwater dance. Other songs have a surprising cinematic twist half-way through (Neptune’s World).

And as always, many of the titles and melodies apply equally well to emotional themes.

We hope listeners will find the Oceans CD a rich contribution to their music libraries.
